Search continues for man missing in Teton County, WY

Teton County, Wyoming Search and Rescue continues to look for missing 85-year-old Bernhard Reitmann. The hunter’s family first reported him missing 6 days ago on Wednesday, September 23rd.

Reitmann’s car was found at the Highland trail-head up Granite Creek Rd., which is where search crews are focusing their efforts.

“We’ve put in over four-thousand man hours and 24 hours of helicopter time in searching,” said Tim Ciocarlan, the incident commander for the search effort. “We’ve covered our entire search area that we’ve planned for, and recovered it. So now we’re filling in the holes and looking in different areas that are a little bit out of the box.”

Over the weekend, nearly 100 volunteers were on the ground looking for Reitmann or any clue’s of him. Only about 40 people are on the ground searching today, but leaders hope hunters in the area will be on the lookout.

“Just be aware that Bernhard is out there. Keep your eyes open,” said Ciocarlan. “If you see anything, You may not think what they see is relevant, but go ahead and give the sheriff’s dispatch a call at (307)-733-2331.”
