Pocatello man arrested for shooting at police

Zachary L. Davis, 24, was arrested this morning for shooting at Pocatello Police Officers late last night. The shooting happened on Shore Road. Bullets that Davis fired hit the door of the police car, as he then took off running.

Police initially had charges out for Davis for grand theft and eluding warrants. The shooting began when police tried to arrest him at a traffic stop.

Pocatello Police Department’s K-9 unit and the BCSO Bearcat found him this morning and placed him into custody at Common Cents convenience store on 5th Ave. and Jason.

Before he was captured, a reverse 911 call was made to residents advising them in the area to stay in doors for their safety. Police were also overseeing the area for the safety of children in the area on their way to school.

Davis is currently held at the Pocatello Police Department where he will wait for his first arraignment in court.

We will continue to bring you updates as they become available.
