Idaho Falls named one of the safest place to trick-or-treat
Smartasset.com conducted a study of Americas largest 300 cities, and Idaho Falls ranked No.9.
The low crime rate, as well as cooler temperatures, influenced the ranking.
However police are still warning people to be safe. “Anybody under 12 needs to be supervised,” Idaho Falls Police Officer Brandon Prince said. “Especially go with people. Don’t go out by yourself. It’s not safe and you always have somebody to watch out for you. For parents, always make sure you know where your kids are at, where they’re going, what routes their gonna be on.”
Drivers are cautioned to turn on their headlights, slow down- and be alert in residential neighborhoods. Entering and exit driveways slowly and carefully. They should also take extra time to look for kids at intersections- and on curbs.
Those walking are encouraged to remember to use crosswalks, look both ways, and don’t text and walk.
Children are also encouraged to carry a glow stick or flashlight and check treats before eating.
