Idaho Labor Union holds networking committee

The Pocatello Department of Labor held a meeting today at the Idaho Labor building on 5th Ave. The goal of the meeting was to provide information seminars and workshops based on workforce-related needs and wants in the work place.

Employment Service Supervisor of the Labor Union, Michael Myers lead the meeting today. He heard from local employers who addressed concerns or suggestions on how to improvement recruitment and training routines for new employees.

“We’re doing everything we can. You know, creatively thinking, thinking outside the box to help employers recruit. One of the way we want to start using more of is, open houses, onsite hiring fairs that employers can put on, for you know, maybe a hiring need,” said Myers.

Myers says he plans to have more committees in the future to help employers and their workforce.
