Boo at the Zoo returns to Tautphaus Park
Boo at the Zoo has returned to Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park for the days leading up to Halloween.Boo at the Zoo will run Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week from 5:00-8:30 p.m.
Here are a few of the new events you can find this year:
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile™ will be at the zoo. Yep, the world famous vehicle shaped like a giant hotdog will be inside the zoo.
On Thursday only, join us from a galaxy far, far away. You won’t want to miss the Timberline Garrison which is a local chapter of the 501st Legion. The 501st Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans. While it is not sponsored by Lucasfilm Ltd., it is Lucasfilm’s preferred Imperial costuming group. The 501st will have a special photo opportunity backdrop for you to pose with your favorite costumed Star Wars character.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday explore the swashbuckling world of pirates as Idaho Falls Zoo opens the pond area for the first time ever during Boo at the Zoo. You’ll see the giant kraken that has sunk the S.S. IF Zoo and the scurvy seadogs who are trying to save the ship’s booty!
If guests would like to see the wonderful light displays at the zoo but don’t want to attend Boo at the Zoo, the zoo night lights will be on display Saturday, Oct. 31. Admission on Oct. 31 is only $3.75 for adults (13 and over), $2.25 for kids (4-12) and $3 for seniors 62 and over. Ages 3 and under are free.
Zoo staff is askingthe public to access the zoo by using Rollandet and then park in Elk Field. Rogers Street will be closed off, and the Zoo and Hockey Shelter parking lot will be reserved for handicapped and for hockey pick-up and drop-off.
