Crash claims one in Fremont County
Idaho State police report that on Thursday just before 5:30 p.m. troopers were called to a crash about 14 miles north of Ashton.
Gregory Griffith of Jackson, Wyoming was driving westbound on Highway 20 in a Toyota Tacoma.
Griffith lost control of his pickup on slick snow covered roads and slid into oncoming traffic. His pickup was hit by another Toyota pickup driven by James Staggs of Island Park.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Griffith was killed in the crash, Staggs was taken by ambulance to Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic were blocked until 7:40 p.m.
