6-year-old helps others one cupcake at time

Meet Jackson Moreau.

Cupcakes are his favorite but he loves something else even more.

“Selling and making cupcakes to earn money for Primary Children’s Hospital,” said Jackson.

It all started three months ago.

“We were watching a show and there was an NFL player doing some work at Children’s Hospital. They were talking about how he had made a large donation and Jackson turned to my husband and I and said he wanted to grow up and be an NFL player because he wanted to donate from Children’s Primary Hospital,” said Robyn Moreau.

He quickly fount out he didn’t have to be a pro football player to donate to a hospital he’s had his eye on.

“Jackson has been a patient there since he was an infant. He was born with optic nerve hypoplasia so he’s blind in his left eye,” Robyn said.

It’s a medical condition stemming from underdevelopment of the optic nerve.

“Commonly it is paired with a brain abnormality or a pituitary problem and somehow we got lucky, said Robyn.

“I feel like I’m lucky because I can run outside and play and some kids can’t,” said Jackson.

He wants to make a difference in those children’s lives by helping pay for their hospital bills.
Friday was the 6-year-old’s third cupcake sale and he’s raised nearly $1,300.
A pretty penny that all started with an oven and a little idea to help.

The first doctor to diagnose Jackson said he would never be an athlete but he’s already proving that wrong.

He plays football and baseball.

Jackson also has a message for Ellen.

He’s not trying to steal her away from Tayt, he just wants to be her friend.

He hopes one day she can match his donation for the hospital.

Jackson will deliver the money to Primary Children’s Hospital at his next check-up in early December.
