Idaho Department of Correction names east Idaho wardens
Two eastern Idaho correctional facilities have new wardens.
Amanda Gentry has been named by the Idaho Department of Correction as the warden of Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center. Gentry joined the department in 2005 as a correctional officer and food service officer. She is a graduate of Weber State University, where she majored in computer science.
Ross Casteton has been named warden of St. Anthony Work Camp. Castleton joined the department in 1997 as a correctional officer in Pocatello. In 2002, he became a drug and alcohol rehabilitation specialist. He is a graduate of Idaho State University where he majored in social work.
The Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center is a 289-bed women’s prison. It incarcerates women who are classified in all custody levels and serves as the entry point for women entering Idaho’s correctional system.
The St. Anthony Work Camp is a 240-bed facility that incarcerates minimum-custody offenders who are given the opportunity to work outside the facility. In the past, work camp inmates have worked in wildland firefighting and potato processing. Inmate earnings are often used to pay their court-ordered fines and restitution and to offset the costs of their incarceration.
