Missing Marine was spotted in Dubois last summer
A group called “Missing Warrior Alert” is attempting to locate a U.S. Marine who may have last been seen in Dubois, Idaho.
Clark County Sheriff Bart May said Kurt Michael Buckman was spotted on Idaho Transportation Department security cameras at the Dubois rest area around August 18. The sheriff was alerted by cleaning crews who found an abandoned car in the parking lot.
A search of the registration led to Buckman. He said Buckman was apparently in the process of purchasing the car from a California man. May said Buckman was reported AWOL from the Marine Corps.
Surveillance video indicated Buckman left the area after hitching a ride with a truck driver.
The National Crime Information Center and California officials are investigating.
