Pocatello kicks off Christmas season with a 1,000 santas

Pocatello can finally ring in the Christmas season with the Night of 1,000 Santas Festival happening in Old Town Pocatello.

Santas will be dressed up for a parade on a fire truck in with a “Riding in a Winter Wonderland” theme. Families and kids will get to collect candy and judge the best looking float in the parade.

Santa will be arriving the Pavilion at 4p.m. today to visit with children. Trolley rides will be available. Fun-filled activities and games will be there and according to Old Town Pocatello officials, Frosty and the talking tree will be back this year.

The event is encouraging everyone to come and bring your Santa hats, so that the parade route will be lined up with Santas. Free hats will also be given away on 501 N. Main Street.

Parade will begin on 3rd Ave. and East Center Street at 6:30p.m.

“This is the 12th year that this has gone on, but the parade is over 25 years old. The festival will be right here at the Old Town Pavilion,” said Executive Director of Old Town Pocatello, Stephanie Palagi.
