Return of Light Parade

The Idaho Falls Light Parade is happening Saturday on Memorial Drive. Twenty-seven businesses have floats in the parade. The Idaho Falls Winter Wonderland parade is to celebrate the holiday season and the city’s 150th year.

Cody Hendrickson, vice president of Hendrickson’s Towing, said, “The holidays are really important to us as a family and a business, and we try to give back as much as we can.”

It’s estimated that more than 4,200 people will be on Memorial Drive Saturday evening for the light parade. The celebration will begin tonight with a tree lighting ceremony at Civitan Plaza. The parade begins and ends at the corner of Memorial and E streets. The event is to raise funds for the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center. Teton Toyota and Hendrickson’s Towing are just two of the floats, and each float is required to have at least 500 lights.

“We’re excited about it, to get out and support the community and participate,” said Dave Hernandez, of Teton Toyota. “It’s a good thing, and we are so excited it’s back.”

“Idaho Falls is a good town with a lot of good people and they support us in what we do and what we believe in, and we try to give back as much as possible,” said Hendrickson.
