Anaya agrees to plea deal in kidnapping case

The Bonneville County Prosecutor has negotiated a plea agreement with Faustino A. Anaya. He appeared for criminal mediation Friday.

Under the terms of his guilty plea he’ll be sentenced on an amended charge of kidnapping in the second degree which carries a penalty of up to 25 years in prison.

Anaya had two outstanding drug charges and pleaded that down to one count of delivery of a controlled substance.

Under the agreement, the court will be bound to give a 10 year minimum fixed sentence on the kidnapping charge.

Prosecutors can still argue for up to 25 years in prison on the kidnapping charge and will be allowed to argue for up to life in prison on the drug charge.

Sentencing is set for March 30th at 9:30 am before Judge Bruce Pickett.

This deal does not apply to the other four defendants in this case.
