19th annual Feeding 5,000 Families Food Drive kick-off

The big food drive kicks off tonight at the First Presbyterian Church in Pocatello, where local talent will be showcasing their musicwith a concert.

It is free admission to the community, as you may donate to the Idaho Foodbank of either money or non-perishable food items.

Chairman of the Feeding 5,000 Families Food Drive, Jolene Barnett-Stephens says it coincides with the Catholic season of lent and goes all the way up to Easter Sunday.

“This is a chance for the community to give back and help families out who are less fortunate. It should be a really good time tonight,” said Barnett-Stephens.

The community can donate at any time to the Idaho Foodbank on 555 1st. Ave. at any time, all the way up to Easter during this particular event.

“Last year, we were able to collect about 20,000 food items for families, so we met well over our goal. We were very happy about that.”

The kick-off starts tonight at the 7p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, located on 202 S. 7th Ave.
