Two teens arrested for robbing Idaho Falls gas station
Update: Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says one of the teenagers involved in this case is also a suspect in a robbery that occurred Sunday at the County Corner Market.
Idaho Falls Police have arrested two teenage boys for robbery after a short pursuit early Monday morning.
The 15-year-old boy and the 13-year-old boy were both booked into the 3B Detention Center.
According to police reports, officers responded to the Stinker Station, 1485 W. Broadway, for a report of an armed robbery around 1:16 a.m. The clerk reported a male, wearing a mask and carrying a baseball bat, came into the store and demanded money and cigarettes.
As police were searching for the suspect, they located a suspicious male hiding behind a dumpster near the Stinker Station at 498 E. First St. Officers chased the male on foot before the male jumped into a white van and fled westbound.
Officers pursued the vehicle on South Higbee and observed the white van run multiple stop signs. The vehicle turned the wrong way on 12th St. before turning right onto Holmes Avenue.
Officers performed a PIT maneuver on the vehicle near 17th and Holmes stopping the vehicle.
The teens were found in possession of the cigarettes and cash taken from the West Broadway convenience store robbery.
The 15-year-old boy, who was driving the van, was also arrested for felony eluding. The 13-year-old boy, who initially ran from police, was also arrested for resisting arrest.
