Kids race cardboard, duct tape boats

Kid in Blackfoot had a boat race to wrap up swim camp.

But these aren’t ordinary boats, they’re made out of cardboard and duct tape. The kids worked on the boats all week.

“We’ve got all of the counselors there. It’s safe. It’s fun. It’s a good time,” Dylan Pope, a swim instructor said.

“We are really trying to create, within the community, activities so the youth have greater opportunities to spend their time,” youth coordinator Traci Leonardson said. “So putting together the 2016 swim camp was part of our thought process in creating a baseline for other programs to come.”
