International Food Fair celebrates 18 years

Saturday was the all day 18th Annual International Food Fair inside the St. Anthony Gym at the Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Pocatello.

It featured food booths from Italy, Columbia, Puerto rico, Philippines and more. Co-Chair of the fair, Ramone gutierrez says the Columbian booth is new this year, as it’s inspired by one of the Columbian pastors there at the church.

“Originally we had this event to do like a Mardi Gras event but we moved into a international food fair,” said Gutierrez.

“It’s exciting because we got people coming to the French booth for crepes and they’re coming back for seconds, so that’s really good. And new this year, we have a Columbian booth with empanadas, which is really really nice,” said Dianne Robison, Coordinator, International Food Fair.

The gym was full of diversity and spice, with happy people and great food aromas from the many countries.
