Idaho’s child immunization rates improving

Idaho’s child immunization rates are improving.

In 2015, 86.7 percent of Idaho students were vaccinated, up from 85.6 percent in 2014, according to the Department of Health and Welfare. But that’s still short of the state’s 90 percent goal.

There are efforts to help reach that goal, like Tuesday’s free childhood immunization clinic offered by Eastern Idaho Public Health.

“We try to reduce as many barriers (as) possible through different clinics and education,” said James Corbett, who’s with EIPH.

The clinic runs from 3 to 6 p.m. at 1250 Hollipark Drive in Idaho Falls.

The clinic is for kids 18 and younger.
