Portneuf Wellness Center opens new mountain bike park

A call to all bikers…there’s a new mountain bike park in Pocatello, filled with exciting slopes and paths. It’s now open at the Portneuf Wellness Center.

Organizer of the event, TJ Budge says it’s a tremendous resource to the community and a great place to learn how to ride as a beginner.

According to Budge, the mountain bike park was planned two years ago and was funded by the Portneuf Health Trust and other members of the community.

The wellness complex now features three different trail levels depending on your experience. The Pediatrics, the E.R. and the I.C.U trails all provide a different adventure to explore with slopes, jumps and leveled terrain for the entry-level riders.

“There’s a trail for beginners. Anybody who doesn’t have training wheels and more advanced trails so you can develop your skills, but it’s a great place to spend time with the whole family. And then, if you decide if you like it, we got phenomenal trails all around the valley,” said Budge.

The development of the bike park started last Fall.
