Officer injured in high speed chase

UPDATE: The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office confirms the injured Fort Hall Officer has a broken leg among other injuries.

The officer is in serious condition at a local hospital.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two people have been arrested after a high speed chase spanning from Chubbuck to the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, Monday evening.

Police say an officer with Fort Hall police was struck and injured.

He was taken to the hospital for unknown injuries.

The chase began on Siphon Road as a traffic stop.

The suspect vehicle then lead police on a pursuit through the streets of Chubbuck, Tyhee, and Fort Hall.

Police say the chase ended when officers performed a PIT maneuver on a walking path north of Jerome St. forcing the suspects vehicle into a ditch.

Our photographer witnessed the two suspects being treated and put into an ambulance on the scene.
