The Storm Prediction center in Norman, Oklahoma, has issued a marginal risk for severe storms Thursday.

SUMMARY… STRONG TO LOCALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MAY OCCUR TODAY AND INTO TONIGHT FROM SOUTHEAST TEXAS INTO SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA AND ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHEASTERN US AND FLORIDA PENINSULA. STRONG STORMS ALSO MAY OCCUR OVER PARTS OF THE GREAT BASIN AND NORTHERN ROCKIES. “PARTS OF THE GREAT BASIN AND NRN INTERMOUNTAIN REGION… AS THE UPPER TROUGH DIGS SEWD ACROSS THE WRN U.S. AND A COLD FRONT CONTINUES ACROSS WRN MT/ID/NV THIS AFTERNOON…MODEST PRE-FRONTAL AIRMASS DESTABILIZATION WILL SUPPORT AN INCREASE IN SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA. WHILE FAIRLY MEAGER BUOYANCY WILL LIMIT OVERALL SEVERE RISK…MODERATELY STRONG MID-LEVEL SWLYS AHEAD OF THE UPPER TROUGH WILL PERMIT POTENTIAL FOR A FEW STRONGER/ORGANIZED UPDRAFTS…AND ATTENDANT RISK FOR MARGINAL HAIL. A LOCALLY DAMAGING GUST OR TWO WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE…AIDED BY SUB-CLOUD EVAPORATION.
