3 injured in separate overnight accidents
Three people were sent to the hospital from two separate accidents in eastern Idaho overnight.
Idaho State Police report the first accident happened at approximately 11:50 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 15 near mile marker 92, south of the Blackfoot exit.
Police said Logan Barnett, 23, of Idaho Falls, was heading north in a Chevy pickup passing a semi. The semi didn’t stay in his lane, police said, causing Barnett to hit the semi multiple times. The pickup ended up in the left lane.
Barnett and his passenger, Chelsea Acuna, 23 of Pocatello were taken to Bingham Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Neither of them was wearing their seatbelts.
Police said alcohol is a factor in the crash.
Another accident on Interstate 86 sent one person to the hospital.
The accident happened near milepost 50.5 between American Falls and Pocatello.
Troopers reported Justin Line, 18, of Pocatello, was driving eastbound when he went into the median rolling the Honda Civic onto the left lane of travel.
Line was able to get out of thecar.
A passerby stopped on the right side of the road to help with the accident. While assisting, another car hit the Civic and crossed the lane hitting the parked car.
The driver, Kaichiari Evans, 26, of Columbia, South Carolina, was taken to the Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello.
The crashes are still under investigation by Idaho State Police.
