St. Anthony’s 61st Fisherman’s Breakfast

For the past 61 years, people have headed to the city of St. Anthony and enjoyed a hot breakfast during Memorial Day Weekend. This Friday was no different.

Thousands enjoyed themselves at the annual Fisherman’s Breakfast in St. Anthony. The line was huge and took hours to wind down.

“We serve over 4,000 people, so it’s a big happening here in town. We get people from all over the world. We’ve had here a couple of years ago some from Australia. A lot of people are coming up bringing their campers and heading north, so they stop here, grab their breakfast,” said co-chairman Harry Halkar.

Long lines filled with hungry people waiting to get their free breakfast; and the park was filled with the smells of sausage, pancakes, and hash browns.

The Fisherman’s Breakfast is one of St. Anthony’s biggest events of the year.

Families come to this free event generation after generation, and have made it a tradition to come here each year.

“I’ve been coming around 20 years here. It’s lots of fun. I’ve been doing it since I was a little kid. My dad did it as a little kid as well,” said attendee Jay Carlson.

St. Anthony’s Fisherman’s Breakfast is just one way the Upper Valley brings the community together during Memorial Day weekend.
