Boy injured in boating accident released from hospital
UPDATE (May 31, 2016)
A four year old boy, injured when the boat he was in capsized on the Snake River in Idaho Falls May 24, has been released from the hospital. According to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, the boy’s father, Dennis Davey, said the boy was expected to make a full recovery.

One of the child victims of a Tuesday boating accident is still in critical condition. The other three victims have been released from the hospital.
According to Angel Terry, the grandmother of the boy still in the hospital, her 4-year-old grandson is still in critical condition. Terry says the boy is not breathing on his own and is on a ventilator.
The other victims, Dennis Davey, of Idaho Falls, Jose Gomez, of Idaho Falls and another boy, were released from the hospital and are doing fine. Davey is the father of the boy still in the hospital.
According to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office,the cause of this incident is still under investigation, however they do know the boat launched from the South Tourist Park Boat Ramp and motored upstream to the area of the Broadway Bridge.
The two children were wearing life jackets and the adults were not. During that time the boat experienced an issued with the anchor causing it to quickly take on water and capsize, trapping one 4-year-old underneath. The other 4-year-old and his father floated downstream where they were rescued and pulled from the water by officers and firefighter personnel just above the Pancheri Bridge.
The driver of the boat and 40-year-old Oris Martinez of Idaho Falls jumped into the water were able to turn the boat partially over so that officers and rescue personnel arriving on scene could get to the trapped boy and pull him from the water. The boy was trapped under the boat for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. The driver of the boat had to let go and floated a short distance where he was also helped from the water by arriving officers and ambulance personnel.

Original Story 5/24/2016: Two adults and two children were pulled from the Snake River in Idaho Falls, after their boat capsized Tuesday evening.
The emergency call came in just before 7 p.m.
Idaho Falls Police, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, and Idaho Falls Ambulance all responded to the river between Broadway and Pancheri.
Emergency Personnel were able to pull all 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children, that had been in the boat between where it capsized and the Pancheri Bridge.
Gunnar Martinez contacted Local News 8, saying his father,Oris Martinez,was one of the by-standers that jumped into the river to help rescue the family. He was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, treated for hypothermia, and was later released.
