Blackfoot kicks off Fourth of July weekend

Blackfoot is kicking off its Fourth of July celebrations.Everything began Saturday morning with a parade going back to the roots.

The parade involved horses, tractors, and classic cars- the muscle behind Blackfoot, Idaho.

“I liked the horses the best,” said Ellie Campbell.

“This thing has exploded in every direction, from the car show to the entertainment,” said Tanna Beal. “It has just exploded”

The “Never Done” Car show takes the record for the biggest show the town has ever had.

“I gotta phone call about 3 weeks asking if I could put together a car show and this is what we got,” said organizer Clint Grover. “So I made a bunch of phone calls and then some other guys made a bunch of phone calls and we had a lot of help from a lot of really great people and I think we were able to put together one of the biggest and best car shows Blackfoot has ever had”

A petting zoo, bounce houses, vendors, games and activities can all be found at Jensen’s Grove. The day’s events all leading up to the grand finale firework show.

“First we start with the music, IE productions people made the soundtrack and then we take that soundtrack and our firework effect items to match the music that has been put together,” said Al Burns of Fireworks West Internationale. “Then we kind of write a book and script out every second of the show.”

The show will include multi layer effects with large shells, mid shells, and small shells shot from floating docks.

“We put the show together this year. It’s very patriotic and I hope they come and have a sense of pride in America,” said Chad Hammond of IE Productions. “I hope there will be a couple tears shed. Overall I love the thump it. I think whats great about this show is lining the beaches with the speakers over there. When the fireworks are going and dancing to the music and you have that patriotic music. It puts the show in a firework show.”
