Lost Rivers Medical Center to partner with University of Utah

Lost Rivers Medical Center (LRMC) in Arco is announcing a new partnership with the University of Utah. The partnership will work to create more care opportunities for high-risk patients in central Idaho.

High-risk patients include those needed care for complex cardiovascular care, neurosciences, and transplant services.

In a press release, Gordon Crabtree, Interim CEO of University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, says the partnership makes sense because both organizations share a commitment providing high quality care.

“We recognize that no one wants to leave his orher community when they get sick. The goal of this partnership is to enhance Lost Rivers Medical Center’s ability to
serve the residents in the region with high quality care and better access to specialty care not currently available,” said Crabtree.

LRMC says the affiliation will not create additional fees for patients. Patients will also still be allowed to choose other larger hospitals they want to be referred to for care.The announcement comes as LRMC received designation as the first Level IV Trauma center in Idaho. Earlier this year, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls received designation by the state as a Level II Trauma center.
