Lanes Creek fire grows to 25 acres

The Lanes Creek fire, 10 miles northwest of Thayne, Wyoming grew to 25 acres over the weekend. The fire torched trees Sunday, but is burning mostly in heavy downed and dead fuels. A number of new spot fires were discovered Sunday to the northeast and east of the main fire.
A 20-person hand crew and one engine are monitoring the fire, but it is being managed for resource benefit.

The Eastern Idaho Interagency Fire Center was tracking just one active fire Friday morning.
The Lanes Creek fire is being managed for resource benefit. It was started by lightning June 30 about 10 miles north-northwest of Thayne, Wyoming. It has grown from 1.5 acres to 11 acres.
A 20-person hand crew and one engine are monitoring the fire and will provide protection to private lands located to the west of where the fire is burning.
The Yale Fire on the Ashton-Island Park District was declared “out” Tuesday afternoon. That lightning caused fire was located about one mile southwest of Sawtell Peak at the head of Hell Roaring Canyon.
