Pocatello man arrested for grand theft of firearms
Nathaniel Jayson Barker, 48, was arrested Friday on charges of grand theft of firearms, unlawful possession of firearms, and possession of a controlled substance.
According to police reports, Barker attempted to pawn a stolen item at an Old Town pawn shop. The shop recognized the item as stolen and contacted police. Officers found Barker nearby shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.
As part of an investigation into other thefts in the Old Town area, police obtained a search warrant for Barker’s home. Police discovered allegedly stolen firearms and methamphetamine.
