Cliff Creek fire now 10 percent contained

Cliff Creek fire Incident Commander Tony DeMasters reports the Cliff Creek fire, 5 miles north of Bondurant, Wyoming has grown to 11,534 acres. It is now 10 percent contained.

620 firefighters are working on the lightning-caused fire that started July 17. DeMasters now estimates the fire will be contained around midnight Sunday, July 31.

Evacuation of the Bondurant area has been lifted. All homeowners in that area are being allowed to return to their homes.

Teton County, Wyoming officials said U.S. Highway 189/191 from Hoback Junction to Daniel would reopen at Noon, Friday.

A red flag warning is posted today for high winds, low relative humidity, and lightning.

Firefighters plan to continue protection and control action within Granite Creek. They will also assess control opportunities east along Dell Creek and secure existing fire lines to control the fire south of the highway.

A public meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Pinedale Administration Building.
