Scout Hollow receives big grant from NRA
Four Scout organizations throughout Idaho and Wyoming received almost $10,000 in grants from the NRA; and one of those places, with the largest amount granted, is Scout Hollow in Rigby.
They were gifted over $3,000 worth of pellet rifles, ammunition, and targets.
Scout Hollow is a Cub Scout camp serving Scouts in the Grand Teton Council. They are extremely grateful for their support to the over 4,000 boys and girls that come to the day camps each year.
“Not only is it impacting the lives of all the kids and the youth that come here, but it also impacts the whole community because it allows us as a community to work together to help these boys and these girls. And that’s not an opportunity we would have without this money,” says senior patrol leader Ruth Jones.
“Its kind of an important part of our society to have protection in firearms and this gives them a safe environment to learn,” commissioner Brynn Pyper said.
The other camps granted funds: Salmon River High Adventure Base, Island Park Scout Camp, and Treasure Mountain Scout Camp in Wyoming.
