RMP now estimates that all power will be restored by 4:30 p.m.
Original story: Rocky Mountain Power is investigating the cause of an outage that is affecting 2,171 customers in the Rexburg area as of 10:45 a.m. Monday morning. They estimate that power will be restored by 12:30 p.m.
Paul Murphy from Rocky Mountain Power says they are still unsure what caused the outage but are working to restore power as quickly as possible. When the outage began shortly before 10 a.m. it was affecting more that 2,700 customers. RMP is still unsure what the cause of the outage is.
This outage is the 2nd one of the day in the area after a short outage to about 90 customers earlier Monday. Murphy says that outage was cause by a bird flying into the power lines.
