Teton County seeks input on rewriting land development rules
Teton County is currently in the process of rewriting all of the land use codes and wants public input.
The land use code regulates what you can do with your property. It covers things like subdivisions, flood plain and zoning.
“Really this is a code for the community and we want the community to be involved in it,” said Teton County Planning Administrator Kristin Rader.
Shawn Hill, executive director of Valley Advocates for Responsible Development said this code impacts everyone so people should care.
“There’s that one experience you’ve had in the valley. That mountain bike ride or cutting hay on a beautiful summer night or there’s really just something in the landscape that just makes people fall in love with this place,” he said. “All of that is at stake. All of that could go away if we don’t have a good land use code.”
