Shakespeare in the Parks arrives in Pocatello
If you love the work of Shakespeare, you’ll love that it’s currently in Pocatello. The Pocatello Arts Council will host two performances from the Montana “Shakespeare In The Parks” 2016 summer tour.
It’s all taking place in the quad at Idaho State University on Thursday and Friday night. The Montana group is traveling with their show to 62 different communities throughout Washington, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.
Cast members were putting together their set for “Comedy of Errors” Thursday afternoon. And a different set will be put together for tomorrow night’s “Richard III.”
“People should come out because we’re bringing a really good cultural event to the area for free. It’s a lot of fun. Tonight, it’s 90 minutes, it’s a lot of laughs. And it’s really accessible to everyone. Sometimes people can think Shakespeare can be really heavy, but I think we make it really enjoyable for anyone who comes to see it.” said Ben Barker, Actor, Shakespeare In the Parks.
Thursday and Friday night’s performance begins at 6:30 p.m.
There is no seating provided. Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to the performance.
