Update: Air Quality warnings lifted
Update 8/3/2016 11:00 am: The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality says conditions in Lemhi, Custer and Butte counties have improved enough that they have lifted the air quality warning.
Open burning restrictions for the area have also been lifted.
Original story: The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality caution for people living in Lemhi, Custer and Butte Counties for degraded air quality.
Air quality is currently in the unhealthy category and is expected to remain unhealthy to moderate through Wednesday.
At that level, everyone may begin to experience health effects. Sensitive groups, including those with heart and lung disease, older adults, and children may experience more serious effects and should avoid prolonged heavy exertion. People in those groups should stay indoors. Everyone else should limit prolonged or heavy exertion and limit their time outdoors.
All open burning in the three counties has been prohibited by the DEQ.
