Update: Missing Montana teen found safe

UPDATE: Missing teen Sandy Moore has been found safe in Casper, Wyoming.

The Amber Alert for Sandy has also been lifted.

Madison County, Montana Sheriff Roger Thompson tells KIDK/KIFI the suspectRodney Lee Zahn is in custody. According to reports, the pair was found in the Ford pick-up described in the Amber Alert.

Original Story: The Madison County, Montana Sheriff’s Office has issued an amber alert for 16-year-old Sandy Moore.

Sandy is 5 foot 7 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt with black short sleeves and jeans.

The sheriff’s office believes that Sandy was taken from her home during the night Tuesday by Rodney Lee Zahn who is a 60-year-old registered violent offender in violation of his probation. Zahn is white, 5 foot 5 inches tall with brown eyes and gray and brown short hair. He has a tattoo of the Tasmanian Devil on his arm and a tattoo of a cross on his left hand.

Zahn is believed to be driving a black 1987 Ford pickup with Montana license plate 3-50558B. The truck has a white toolbox and a green bicycle in the back and is pulling a tan and white fifth wheel trailer. The sheriff’s office may be headed towards Billings, Montana or Boise.
