Air quality warning issued for Custer County
Forest and range fire activity have made air quality unhealthy in Custer County.
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality issued the alert Friday, saying fine particulate matter had degraded air quality to the “unhealthy” range.
Under those conditions, the department said all people could begin to experience health effects.
People with heart and lung disease, older adults and children could experience more serioius effects. They are encouraged to avoid prolonged heavy exertion and stay indoors.
Everyone else should limit their time outdoors.
IDEQ has prohibited all outdoor open burning.
