Air quality alert for Teton, Bonneville and Custer Counties extended
An air quality alert that was originally issued Tuesday for Teton, Bonneville and Custer Counties has been extended to August 25th.
The air quality alert was issued Tuesday by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality as smoke from area wildfires continued to reduce air quality. Air quality in the three counties is currently considered to be moderate. The DEQ says that the air forecast ranges form moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups.
When air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups, sensitive persons may experience health effects and should limit prolonged or heavy exertion and limit time spent outdoors. The general public is unlikely to be affected.
Air quality in the three affected counties will be reassessed on Thursday August 25th.
