Forecast for Jan 4th and 5th 2017

Several factors still have to come together as we move towards the middle and end of the week. First off being the bitter cold Arctic air that will be trying to seep in from the North. The second being a storm system moving in across the West and staying more towards the Central and Southern Rockies. This will keep clouds and snow in the forecast especially across the Southern Highlands and areas along the Utah border. Tuesday Night, 50% percent chance of snow. Overcast, with a low around 10°. Wind chill values as low as -15. Northeast wind around 10 mph. New snow accumulation of less than an inch possible. Wednesday, 50% chance of snow, with partly sunny skies further north. Highs near 15°. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Higher totals across the Southern Highlands and south of Pocatello. Wednesday Night, a 20% chance of snow, with a low around -8°. WIND CHILL WARNING — A Wind Chill warning has been issued for Idaho Falls and areas to the north for Wednesday night and Thursday morning, Wind Chill values will range from -20° to -30°. Thursday, sunny skies with a high near 10°.
