City reveals cost of snow removal so far

It’s a little early, but the City of Idaho Falls has put out short-term snow removal numbers.

They don’t have a final budget number or overtime calculated in, but so far the city has spent more than $400,000 on contracted workers to remove snow.

Due to the snow and rain Eastern Idaho experienced recently, the city of Idaho Falls has been working to clear slush off of main and secondary roads.

Last year, the City of Rexburg spent a little over $300,000 on their snow removal.
