An atmospheric river of sorts has itself parked over the West keeping us very active with rain, snow and ice to continue through Wednesday. Look for more scattered rain and snow showers for the next couple of days. Tuesday, more snow than rain as temps have dropped a bit. Many locations picking up between 2-5″ of fresh snow with 10-20″ expected up into the high country. Highs will top out into the lower 30’s. Count on breezy winds as well. Icy roads expected. Chance of snow 100%. Tonight, snow showers to continue with breezy conditions making visibility a concern. Travel will be difficult due to blowing snow. Wintry mix possible for the lower valleys and lower Snake River Plain. Lows into the low 30’s. Wednesday, on-and-off rain/snow showers. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30’s. The winds will be a factor in the morning as well. Icy roads possible. Chance of precip 80%. Thursday, A 30% chance of snow, with a mostly cloudy sky. A high near 19°. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Friday, cold and sunny with highs staying into the teens with a light breeze.
