Several area highways are closed Tuesday night

UPDATE 5:00 PM: Idaho Highway 33 between Newdale and Tetonia is closed. Idaho Highway 32 between Ashton and Tetonia is closed. Idaho Highway 34 is closed between Soda Springs and the Wyoming border. All the roads are closed because of the drifting snow on the highway and low visibility.

UPDATE 1:30 P.M.: WYDOT is reporting they will close the Teton Pass tonight (Jan 11) at 3 am. for avalanche control. Deteriorating weather conditions may force an earlier closure.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation reports U.S. Highway 26/89/191 between Moose and Moran Junction in Grand Teton National Park is closed this morning because of the winter conditions.

Teton Pass is open, but conditions are snowy and high winds. The Snake River Canyon between Alpine and Hoback Junction is open but conditions are reported to be snowy with drifting and blowing snow.

Jackson has lifted its advisory for No Unnecessary Travel on town roads. But they urge caution when driving. All START buses are running, including the Teton Valley communter lines, officials said.

Idaho Highway 75 between ID 21 (1 mile north of the Stanley area) and Squaw Creek Road (4 miles south of the Clayton area) is closed because of avalanche danger.

Blowing and drifting snow are being reported along parts of Interstate 15 from Montana border to the Utah border.
