Jakers Bar and Grill coming to Pocatello
UPDATE: 1-12-17
The owners of Jakers Bar and Grill confirmed Thursday the restaurant will be returning to Pocatello. The company issued a formal news release Thursday.
“The void in the Pocatello restaurant scene, left by popular eatery Ruby Tuesday, will be short-lived. Jakers Bar & Grill has announced plans to open its newest location and take over the spot vacated by Ruby Tuesday, starting May 1, 2017. The announcement figures to be received as especially good news for Ruby Tuesday staff who were hit hard by the restaurant’s abrupt exit just two days before Christmas.
Jakers management plans to bring 60 full and part-time jobs to the Pocatello community in the opening of its new restaurant. Jakers also is encouraging all former Ruby Tuesday staff to apply for positions within the Jakers family. Interviews begin March 1. Applications can be found online at jakers.com under the “Employment” tab.
“Jakers is opening in Pocatello because we believe the restaurant scene here has a lot to offer locals and visitors,” said Jakers owner and founder Jake Jones.
The Pocatello opening of Jakers is a homecoming of sorts for Jones, who opened his first-ever restaurant, “Jake’s” in Pocatello in 1974. Four decades later, Jones–along with his partner Justin Philbrick, own and operate five other Jakers restaurants across two states, as well as two Red Robin franchises in Montana.
Jakers is known for hearty cuisine in a family-friendly atmosphere–perfect for celebrating special events like birthdays, anniversaries and graduations. Jakers is a surf and turf lover’s paradise, offering fine selections of hand-cut, Double R Ranch steaks, prime rib and high-quality seafood. For diners seeking more casual fare, Jakers offers a variety of classic sandwiches, burgers and appetizers. Some of the most popular Jakers offerings are their homemade scones with honey butter, crab-stuffed mushrooms appetizer, lobster bisque, creme brulee and the salted caramel Snickers ice cream sundae.”
