Pocatello city public works director resigns
The city of Pocatello is looking for a new public works director.
The current director, Michael Jaglowski, submitted his resignation this week. His resignation is effective Feb. 10.
Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad said Jaglowski’s reason for leaving was personal. He said Jaglowski wants to focus on other business opportunities with his family.
Blad said Jaglowski left on good terms with the city and he understands Jaglowski’s reason for leaving.
Blad credited Jaglowski for several great accomplishments for the city and said he will be greatly missed.
“He was a very important part of our staff,” Blad said. “Very knowledgeable, very good at what he did and what he does. He understands the things that we needed and really, truly his philosophies are what our community needed.”
Jaglowski has served as public works director since May 2014.
Blad said the city doesn’t have a replacement in mind yet. He said the job will be open to anyone, but he would like to look at promoting someone with-in house first. He said it will just come down to who is better fit for the job.
Local News 8 / KIDK Eyewitness News 3 reached out to Jaglowski Friday for comment but were unable to get in touch with him.
