Detailed Forecast for February 3, 2017

A steady flow of moisture off the Pacific will continue to stream in across the Pacific Northwest keeping us cloudy, breezy and unsettled with passing snow and rain showers from time to time. Friday, mostly overcast with scattered snow showers in the highlands and a rain/snow mix in the valleys. Highs will be in the 30’s with breezy conditions. SW winds at 10-25mph. Chance of precip 60%. Tonight, rain and mountain snow likely. Ponding and minor flooding is possible especially over the Lower Snake River Plain and southern valleys. Heavy snow possible in the mountains making for difficult travel. Gusty winds up to 40mph expected as well. Chance of precip 90%. Saturday, partly sunny with a good bit of cloud cover and more scattered rain/snow showers. Snow levels will rise as high as 6500 feet as highs will be in the 30’s and low 40’s. Count on several inches of new snow in the mountains with some decent rain totals in the valleys. Unfortunately with the rain falling on top of snow, low lying areas could see some flooding. Sunday, Scattered rain and snow showers, with high’s around 36° to 42°. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
