Roads around Jackson close again

Snake River Canyon, State Highway 89, was once again closed Thursday morning in both directions due to avalanches. Teton County Emergency Management reports one lane was opened for a short time, but WYDOT advised that the road is once again closed. Teton Pass, Highway 22, will remain closed through at least 8 a.m. Saturday. WYDOT has issued a “No Unnecessary Travel” advisory for all state highways in Teton County. Latest road information is available here. Teton County Emergency Management is strongly urging travelers to consider the importance of their trip and to not drive in conditions beyond their ability. With approaching storms and rain expected, motorists are reminded not to drive through flood waters. As little as 1 foot of water can displace a vehicle.
