Detailed Forecast for February 20, 2017
Quite the weekend with more wet and stormy weather on the way! Periods of rain and heavy mountain snow will stay in the forecast through midweek at least with our flooding risk remaining extremely high.
Monday, count on a cool start with a wintry mix quickly changing over to rain as temps climb into the 40’s. Cloudy skies with showers and gusty afternoon winds. Snow levels will stay high at around 7000 feet as temperatures remain above average. Daytime highs will mainly be in the 30’s and 40’s.
Tonight, rain likely with snow levels rising up to 7000 feet and higher as temps stay in the upper 30’s and 40’s. Areas of heavy downpours possible with strong gusty winds at times. Chance of precip 100%.
Tuesday, another wet and cool day with strong morning winds. Models are showing that we could see wind gusts between 40-50 mph in some places, so hang on to your hats. Temperatures will be a bit warmer. Daytime highs will be above average, topping out in the 30’s through the upper 40’s with a possible 50 in the lower Snake River Plain. Snow levels will stay high, averaging around 7500 feet.
Wednesday, a few lingering showers with slightly cooler temps. Daytime highs will be in the 30’s with a few spots bumping into the 40’s. Snow levels will also drop, but we don’t expect any decent snow totals outside the mountains.
