Man dies in snowmobile crash in northwestern Wyoming

A man in his 70s has died in a snowmobile crash near Togwotee Pass in northwestern Wyoming.

Teton County Sheriff Jim Whalen tells the Jackson Hole News and Guide the man went off a snowbank on Sunday afternoon and landed on US Highway 26 about 6 miles east of Togwotee Mountain Lodge. Emergency responders were unable to revive him.

The man’s name and hometown haven’t been released.

The case is being investigated by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
