Nighttime closures on 17th Street begin March 14

Starting Tuesday night, 17th Street in Idaho Falls will be closed between St. Clair Road and Woodruff in the evenings as crews work to replace the structure that carries the street over the Moody Canal.

Up to one lane of traffic on 17th Street in each direction will close at approximately 7:00 p.m., followed by full closure of the roadway at 11:00 p.m. The roadway will re-open to traffic each morning by 5:00 a.m., with single-lane closures extending into the mid-morning hours as necessary.

Traffic on 17th Street between St. Clair Road and Woodruff Avenue will be detoured north to 12th Street during the night time full closures. Barring unforeseen conditions, the project should be completed by the end of the week.

The City asks that people please watch for equipment and workers, follow all traffic signs and flaggers, and reduce speeds to posted limits.
