Back-to-school fashion show at Pine Ridge Mall

It’s almost that time of year again for back-to-school shopping.

On Saturday, Pine Ridge Mall hosted a back-to-school fashion show to give kids, parents and the community some ideas on the latest trends for their back-to-school wardrobes.

Many of the stores in the mall took part in the fashion show, including Pro Image, Herberger’s, Wicked Cute Boutique, and several others.

The community got to see the latest in dresses, casual school outfits, sports attire, and even prom and homecoming dresses.

Both men and women’s attire were shown off. It showed the latest trends for all ages – from adults down to one year olds. The models were volunteers chosen by the stores to display the latest and greatest in fashion.

Stores like Lingerie and Co., the newest addition to the Pine Ridge Mall, said it’s a fun way to bring the community out and show what local stores have to offer.

“It’s very important,” said Emily Muller, with Lingerie and Co. “We’re still trying to get the word out that we are here. As just being new – just being a part of anything that puts our name out is great.”

Muller said for Lingerie & Co. specifically, it’s a great chance to show the community what the store is. Muller said they offer workout clothes, active wear, lounge wear, fragrances and other items. She said a lot of people don’t know that so events like the fashion show are a great way to inform the community about their local shopping options. Muller said it was also fun to see the crowd and community involvement with the mall.

“The reason that we do any event in the mall is for community involvement,” said Drake Taylor, general manager for Pine Ridge Mall. “We want to be as involved with the community as possible. Going out into the community – having the community come in here. We just want to be a centerpiece, really, that we need to be of the Pocatello/Chubbuck community.”

The mall has several more events scheduled for this year, including a large Christmas event for the holidays. To watch for upcoming events and information, you can check out the mall’s Facebook page.
