Police: Be alert for scam targeting people who have recently bonded out from jail
The Madison County Sheriff Office warns you of a recent scam going around the area.
According to officials, the scammer is pretending to be Sgt. Higgins from the Bonneville Sheriff’s Office and is calling people who have recently bonded out from the Madison County Jail.
The scammer demands you send him money or your bond will be revoked and you’ll have to return to jail.
The sheriff’s office reports this is not true and is a scam.
