Food for Friends giveaway Week 5

We want to announce our “Food for Friends” winner for Week 5. Margo Ellis is our winner this week from our website. She wins a $200 gift card from Albertsons. For every gift card it gives away on our website, Albertsons will match that same amount for a local family in need.

KIDK Eyewitness News 3 gave that gift card away Monday too. With the help of St. Vincent de Paul’s, we found Raylene. She is a single mom with four kids. She has lived in Idaho Falls for 15 years.

“Four kids, the oldest two are twins and the youngest, chasing them all around. What’s a day like for you?” asked KIDK Eyewitness News 3 anchor Todd Kunz.

“There’s always something going on. There’s never time to really just chill out, unless we get a movie in, but it’s always go, go, go. There’s always something, especially with school coming up, there’s always something going on,” said Raylene.

“Sometimes tough to make ends meet? We all have that challenge,” asked Kunz.

“Yeah, for sure,” said Raylene.

“We want to help you out today. What we have done, is we have teamed up with Albertsons. And this here is a $200 grocery gift card for you and your four kids. Just to help things stretch a little further before school starts. What do you think?” asked Kunz.

“I am super excited because no parent wants to worry about how they feed their kids sometimes,” said Raylene, getting emotional.

“OK, Raylene, this is all yours. There you go. From Albertsons alright,” said Kunz.

“Thank you,” said Raylene.

“And we just want that to help with school supplies, groceries, whatever. Again from Albertsons, and just to help you out a little bit, alright?” said Kunz.

“Alright. Thank you so much!” said Raylene.

There are still two more chances to win. Click here to win a $200 gift card from Albertsons. Or click under the “marketplace” tab at the top of this page and look for “Food for Friends.” Albertsons will also match those cards to give to those in need.
